Hi, I’m Stu – good to meet you.

Using the experience, skills and industry know-how I have gained over the past 15+ years working across the media landscape, I set up Stuart Appleby Media to help clients tell their story and communicate their expertise to various audiences.

Over the course of my career so far, I’ve been fortunate to tick off bucket list goals and work around the world delivering journalism, video, media and communications at the business end for high-profile organisations.

Working with Mayor of London, Sir Sadiq Khan, during my previous work at the capital’s City Hall.

  • Outstanding experience handling sensitive issues and media queries where there is a substantial reputational risk, including providing out-of-hours duty press support, corresponding with Private Offices and dealing with major incidents;
  • Excellent understanding of how to use communications to raise the profile, credibility and influence of organisations, businesses and start-ups as well as change perception, manage change and find solutions to business issues through close working with high-level policy officials;
  • Proven experience of monitoring and evaluating the impact of activity alongside capturing and utilising lessons learned to maximise opportunities for continuous improvement and ensure value for money;
  • Career history of working for high-profile organisations across the UK as a journalist as well as experience working in UAE, wider Middle East region, Australia, New Zealand, Caribbean, United States of America and Europe;
  • Seasoned media trainer providing guidance and public relations expertise to a wide-range of people;
  • Accomplished interviewer with significant experience interviewing sporting stars such as Roger Federer, Novak Djokovic, Andy Murray, Billie Jean King, John McEnroe, Usain Bolt, Mo Farah, Jessica Ennis-Hill, Zinedine Zidane, Steven Gerrard, David Beckham, Frank Lampard, Anthony Joshua and Shane Warne to name but a few.
