I was at St. Mary’s Stadium on Wednesday to see Aston Villa secure all three points against Southampton, ending the hosts unbeaten home record this season.
The Midlands outfit won 3-2 thanks to Fabian Delph’s spectacular long-range winner 10 minutes from time, his first goal in the Premier League.
After the match I interviewed Villa Park boss Paul Lambert who praised his troops and his team’s character to fightback in a game which could have easily been won by the in-form South Coast outfit.
