I attended Sir Alex Ferguson’s eagerly anticpated autobiography launch in London on Tuesday as the world’s sporting media gathered to find out which stories the former Manchester United manager had revealed in his new book.

As well as filming the press conference for the Daily Mail Online Sport, I had to edit and send clips back to base from the launch – enabling the sports team to use video to accompany pre-prepared articles on Sir Alex.

Unusually, Hodder and Stoughton, the book’s publishers, had imposed a 2pm embargo on all content from the press conference, so it was very much a race between all the media outlets in attendance to see who could get their content out there first.

I managed to send my files quickly and the Daily Mail Online Sport website was the first outlet to house press conference video online, enhancing our coverage considerably.
